Sophie Benson
Principal
Miss Sophie has been dancing for as long as she can remember, performing with Showdown Theatre Arts in shows including Eponine (Les Miserables), Penny (Hairspray), Eva (Bring It On), Frenchy (Grease), as well as working professionally in shows such as Urinetown (The Vaults, London), Prospect High: Brooklyn (Tristan Bates Theatre), The Marisha Wallace Tour, Judith (Elegies: For Angels, Punks and Raging Queens) at both the Brighton and Edinburgh fringe festivals as well as touring the UK in pantomimes. She was also a student of an exchange with the Baltimore School for the Arts in America for 7 years, most recently as a mentor to the younger students on the programme. Miss Sophie then turned her hand to teaching, working with a mentor before qualifying as a ChiChi Fit instructor. Miss Sophie continues to train at Kopinski Ballet Academy and JBS Dance where she is carrying out her teaching placement. Miss Sophie is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Dance to gain her registered teacher status to be able to enter students for their exams. She is also an Ambassador and student representative for the RAD.
Emily Tietz
Acting & Movement
Emily started acting at a young age and joined a local theatre company where she performed in shows at the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe Festivals, The Vaults at Waterloo, Tristan Bates Theatre (Covent Garden) before being accepted into The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire to study a BA in Acting where she is now in her third year. Credits whilst training include: Jane (The Clockmakers Daughter), Maggie (The House of Bernarda Alba). She is currently working on her first professional role since she started her degree, playing Maid Marian in Robin Hood at The Attic Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon!
